Almaty Stadium is a contemporary, multi-purpose football stadium designed as a major sports and public landmark of Almaty. The architectural concept is based on a modern interpretation of the traditional Kazakh kerege — the lattice structural system of a yurt. This principle is translated into a diagonal façade framework that creates a light yet expressive envelope, combining structural clarity with cultural identity. The transparent ground level connects the stadium with the surrounding public spaces, which function both on event days and as part of the city’s everyday urban life. The project meets international standards for sports and large-scale events and is designed for long-term operation in Almaty’s climatic conditions.
